NOW HIRING:
Line Cooks – for fast-paced kitchen
Pay: $15-$18/ hour depending on experience
Full Time & Part Time
Responsibilities:
-
Ensure ingredients and final products are fresh
-
Follow recipes, including measuring, weighing and mixing ingredients
-
Bake, grill, steam and boil meats, vegetables, fish, poultry and other foods
-
Present, garnish and arrange final dishes
-
Occasionally serve/run food
-
Maintain a clean and safe work area, including handling utensils, equipment and dishes
-
Handle and store ingredients and food
-
Maintain food safety and sanitation standards
-
Ensure stations are prepped, stocked and ready for service
-
Turn over clean and restocked station for next shift
-
Standard cleaning of equipment, dishes and facilities
-
Being a team player and helping others
Skills:
-
Prep and cook in a fast paced restaurant kitchen
-
Works well independently and with a team
-
Familiar with kitchen sanitation measures and safety regulations
-
Knows how to cook on and operate flat tops, burners, ovens, and fryers
-
Multi-tasking
-
Can lift and move boxes/objects 50lbs
-
Maintains a positive attitude throughout the shift no matter how busy it gets
Qualifications:
-
Minimum 6 months restaurant kitchen prep experience (required).

Minimum 1 year restaurant kitchen cooking and/or prep experience (preferred).

Reliable transportation (required)
-
ServSafe Food Handler or willing to get it (required)
-
ServeSafe Manager Certification or willing to get it (desired).

Pubs, since the dawn of America, have held an indelible place, playing a pivotal role in our nation's tapestry. These hallowed taverns, vibrant with revolutionary spirit, served as cradles of the uprising. From hosting polling houses during elections to being the very birthplace of the esteemed United States Marine Corps, they are both grand halls of celebration and sanctuaries of remembrance for those we hold dear in our hearts.
In 1927, our resplendent revival-style establishment took shape, originally a gathering space for a local Masonic lodge. As we embark on this journey, it seems serendipitous to tread upon the path paved by the Scottish stonemasons, the true progenitors of 'freemasonry,' and become a part of the storied legacy that defines 37 Church St.
The Scotsman Public House stands as a bridge between worlds, seamlessly blending elements of the old and the new. As we raise our glasses and pay homage to our Scottish heritage, let us also extend a gracious nod to the Scots-Irish and their ancestors who settled upon this land centuries ago, shaping the enchanting North Carolina backcountry that surrounds us.
